I might have a set of the 'Chevrolet' embossed chrome short style v.covers (newer chevy performance style, not old vintage script). I had them on one of my motors @ some point but they were in good shape & would help your clearance isses.

Heck, for that matter, I think I have a 'short' set of those plain chrome ones like your using. They came on another sbc & were pretty decent as well.....
