I have 3 292s. One running in my '68 Stepside, it's the OEM block that was in my Orange truck when I bought it in 1973. In '77, we rebuilt another 292 from a '67 Forest Service Long Stepside. I ran than engine for 25 years and 250.000 mile. Started a rebuild on the '68 block in 2002 and was on the road by 2005.
Also picked up a model year '63 292 from a guy at Checker Auto. I've been using that one for parts, but I might rebuild it someday. It came in that dragon snot green but with an old Chevy Blue valve cover. PO had bought it just for the scripted CHEVROLET letters on top, and replaced it with a non-scripted cover.
You could always sell it back to me. I bought a 1967 C10 with a 250, I would like to put a 292 with the OTT transmission.
