A little info on 1965, and 1966, 292 engines I am restoring. The 1965 is, engine code FO 701 UW; date code F 8 5. The 1966 is, engine code FI 122 WH; date code I 30 5. The 65 is a dual pulley set-up, and the 66 is a single pulley set-up.
The upper alternator brackets are the same. The lower alternator brackets are different. The engine mounting brackets are the same, however, the round spacers are different sizes. The fans are the same. Some pictures of the above information are provided below:
