600 CFM on a LS2?
Hey they,
I have a 2008 LS2 engine off a Trailblazer SS and I'm wondering if I can put a 600 CFM Edelbrock w/elect choke on it. The holley DP that is on it is junk, and I'm looking for a quick and dirty carb for this, my local autoparts store has on one on the shelf (shocking!) Is 600 CFM too small? thanks! Nick |

The 600 Eddy, works fine on my stock 5.3....if you are street , I would say use it. More power/strip fun, I would go with a Quik fuel carb, in the 650- 750 cfm range. my bro has a DP 650, on a 383 S-10. The truck is a solid 12.5 ride ...out of the box, no tuning? Nice carb...Longhorn

Re: 600 CFM on a LS2?
Understand, that the edelbrock carb, likes no more than 5 psi on fuel psi Not a race carb...Quik fuel/Holley, would be my choice Let the rest of the boys play.....longhorn

What he^^^ said. I personally would skip the edelbrock because they can be a finnicky pain in the @ss. You will get better performance out of holley street avenger. Quick fuel or Pro form would be my choice. Vacuum secondaries in a heavy truck with a mild engine will yield the best results.

Re: 600 CFM on a LS2?
You know, I did some digging around and ended up with a Holley 670.
The carb on there now is a Holley, we'll find out tomorrow if I did the right thing. I'm a Q-jet man at heart, but I'm old enough to know I should try new things... If successful I'll post some burnout pics! |
