Question Vacuum hard line mounting?

Finishing up the install of a th350 in my truck, wondering where the tab goes on the bell housing on the hard line leading to the vacuum modulator? Does it mount on the outside of the bell housing, or between the bell housing and the engine block? I think the dipstick tube mounting tab goes on the outside if I remember correctly…

Does not go between the block and the trans.

Re: Vacuum hard line mounting?

X2!
I usually try to put a flat washer on each side of the tab. I.E. one under the head of the bolt and one between the tab and the bellhousing. It helps to keep the tab from distorting when the bolt is tightened down.

Re: Vacuum hard line mounting?

Thanks y’all! I didn’t think it did go between, BUT if it did, the hard line would be directly above the vacuum modulator and the rubber line connecting them together would be perfectly straight. When the tab is on the outside of the bell housing, the rubber line becomes an “s” shape to make the connection. I know the dipstick tube mounting tab goes on the outside, as that is the only way it fits, and it lines up perfectly. The dipstick tube mounting tab and the vacuum hard line both use the same bell housing hole, correct? Thanks again
