Big Block Intake Gasket Block Off Plates
I will be installing an Edelbrock RPM intake on a 396 Big Block this weekend, and I would like to get opinions on whether to install the metal heat block-off plates that come with my intake gasket set.
I believe they are used if you want to eliminate the heat passages through the intake. I don't live in an extremely cold climate, and was wondering whether there are advantages to leaving the plates out, or if I need to use them? Thanks, guys. NoNeck

Re: Big Block Intake Gasket Block Off Plates
I never use them and it's my understanding that over time they will burn out anyways.
