Post SEAT COVERS AND OTHER UNSOLVED MYSTERIES

Could anyone tell me about the seat cover on my truck? I have a 1969 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 custom 2500 and I haven't seen another seat cover like mine. It has cloth inserts on both sides and a scroll pattern down the middle. It's bench. Other questions I have are my build sheet says the truck came with a 350 $ barrel and the core supports never been switched yet the tune-up sticker says
I-6. I also searched for my 4x4 indicator sticker and found out the stickers from a blazer. It has the description of each gear on the bottom and the pictures of the trucks on top. I also have a metal rod for the throttle linkage from the carb to gas pedal. Any help woul be appreciated thanxx.

If your glove bos says cloth int, your seat is correct, sounds like it is to me, My '69 GMC came the same way, but the dompe smokin old man threw it away and put nasy threads in it.
Your tune up sticker could be from another truck...rust or collision repair. Post your vin and we can tell you if it was a V-6, inline, or V-8.
The metal rod is stock, they were like that till '71 when they went to the cables.
Can't help you on the 4X4 stuff.

I had the same seat in my '69 Custom/10. Glove box says cloth trim, too, and I'd like to get a new repo cover if anyone makes it. So far, all I've seen is from Impala Bob's catalog, and it says it's for a 70-72 Custom Deluxe. The cloth pattern does look a does look a little different than the one in Gee Emm's pic (looks like a picture from a '69 brochure--sweet), but it's hard to tell from the catalog. Longhornmail, do you know if there is a difference betwween the '69 and '70 cloth seat? Right now I have a pretty nice '69 vinyl seat, but it sure would be nice to have the inserts this summer, plus go back original.

Sorry, I have never seen either one. I have seen a shredded '71 that (from what little was there) kinda looked like that, but I don't wanna say for sure. That thing was trashed.
Gee_Emm, that looks like a friken time machine...right off the show room floor. Sweet man.

My truck apprecitates the comments :P

I was pretty shocked when I first saw my trucks seat and still am to this day. It has no rips in it, it does look brand new in person. I have no idea what the previous owner did to keep it like that. I have seen some seat covers in Golden states catalog

I think its http://www.gspp.com

Longhornmail, yeah, you're right, I know a guy with a '71 Custom Deluxe w/ a cloth seat (not houndstooth),but I just don't know if it's the same as a '69.

Gee Emm, I couldn't get the link too work, but I have a Golden States catalog, and nothing but all-vinyl and the houndstooth ones from 71-2. I've got a dozen catalogs and I think the only one with that cloth cover is Impala Bob's. These trucks seem to be getting a lot more popular lately, so I guess I'll just have to be patient, it just bugs me having my Custom 10 emblems with the vinyl seat.
