WTB Big Block Q-jet carb or Holley 600 double pumper

Looking for a carb for my 1972 Big Block highlander. Prefer bolt on and go, but I'd take one that need rebuilt as well.

Looking for an orginal q-jet or a 600cfm holley double pumper with electric choke.

Picts and condition. Shipped price to 66762.

Thanks,

Re: WTB Big Block Q-jet carb or Holley 600 double pumper

What time frame are you looking for? I currently have 7042210 qe 1132 in good running condition on my truck and am wanting to upgrade to a holley 750. I know it is not the original to my truck but check the number and see if you may be interested? It is currently getting about 9.5 mpg on my 72 with a 454. It is lean on my truck in the midrange but my engine is somewhat modified. If you are interested in it let me know.

Re: WTB Big Block Q-jet carb or Holley 600 double pumper

I am trying to work out a deal with another forum member for a Holley 3310. If I can make that happen I am thinking like 2 weeks to get it here and mine shipped to you. I would take $100 shipped to you pending getting a Holley on my truck?

Re: WTB Big Block Q-jet carb or Holley 600 double pumper

I can not even Identify this carb... the air horn LIST number can not be found any site. I dont know whats going on.. but here is what I do know...here is what I found:

It is a Holley model # 4165 because it has two metering blacks and mechanical secondary... Double Pumper. It has a progressive linkage because the secondaries do not open until the primaries are about 40 degrees. It is a direct replacement for the Rochester Q-Jets. It is spread bore.. and rebuild kit is only $35 via Summit. They are $400 + new.. .I wish I would have known all this before I threw price out there...I doubt it even needs rebuilt judging it by looks alone... Let me know.

I have the original Q-jet on my 68. Will probably be coming off this winter. I sure it needs rebuilt.

I'm going to pass on the spread bore holley. From my reasearch. People either swear by them or swear at them. lol. Seems to be a pretty decent following for them. I'd perfer the q-jet though. It sould get better mpg per what I've read.

Thanks,

I have found a correct q-jet. I'll update this thread if it doesn't work out.

Thanks,

Re: WTB Big Block Q-jet carb or Holley 600 double pumper

I've got a Holley 4779-2 750 CFM double pumper I'll be selling soon. Along with a Edelbrock 750 CFM with elec choke. Both need a going through but are very very rebuildable.
