radio removal

what is the easiest way to remove a radio from a 1971 pickup with ac???

Take out the glovebox first. You will also have to remove several A/C hoses to get to it from the back.

There will be a hanger in the back which extends from the back of the radio to the underside of the top of the dash. You'll have to remove the nut from the radio end of that. Also you'll have to remove the ashtray and heater/ac control panel. You don't have to disconnect the panel, just let it flop down on it's cables to get the radio out. This is an easy job if you don't have air but a real PITA if you do.
