Couple of Dumb Questions

I've got a couple of questions on my '94. I feel like I should know the answers.

First of all, the switch that shuts off the lights inside of the cab when you shut the door is bad. I'm drawing a blank...

Secondly, on a 350, will a throttle body spacer and K&N style intake do anything for mileage/power, or is it a bunch of b.s.?

Thanks fellas!

A throttle body spacer will help. Make sure the timing is correct on the engine. It will make as much difference as anything you bolt on. Clean fuel filter is also a must. I have cleaned fuel injectors on these and had positive results in fuel mileage.

Re: Couple of Dumb Questions

If it is the earlier TBI setup, that looks like a carbureted intake, then the spacer will make a serious difference in low end torque. The later style intake with the TB at the front the spacer may not give as much of a noted change. The spacer will break up the fuel and air charge below the TBI unit and make it more available for a power burn. The injectors in a TBI spray against the butterflies of the TBI and that creats a fuel dribbling effect into the intake manifold, which does not allow the fuel and air to mix well. That means the cylinders that are on the ends of the intake manifold will not get a good fuel charge to be effective to performance.

That door switch is nothing more than a make contact point for the ground circuit for the dome light. If it is not working properly the wire could be unplugged, grounded out, or the switch is corroded.

Re: Couple of Dumb Questions

Speaking of the door switch, is there an easy way to get that thing out? Both of mine are acting up and I was looking at replacing or cleaning them to make it work better... Any pointers?

Re: Couple of Dumb Questions

Alright... On the door switch, when my buddy and I were messing with it, we had the doors open and used our fingers to depress the switches and the dome light shut off. When we shut the doors, the light wouldn't shut off. I'm confused on this deal.

Re: Couple of Dumb Questions

You'll have to grab the pin and wiggle to get it out. You may even have to reach in behind and push it out. All that I have replaced have come apart when removing them. Cheap made little switches.
