67 vs 68-72

Why do you sometimes see things on the internet advertising items or vids for 68 thru 72 c10s, not 67 thru 72? Are there major differences? I thought only difference was the marker lights.

Re: 67 vs 68-72

There are a lot of one year only "67" parts ,

frame not trimed to fit Big Block
frame not dimpled for power steering
firewall
67 only ignition
67 only ashtray
67 only cigarette lighter
67 only door handles
last year of small back window
67 only glove box door
67 inner door handles
67 armrests
67 front directional wiring
67 doors
67 vent windows
67 folding bench seat
67 tailgate
67 power steering
67 dash knobs
67 only gauge cluster bezel
67 steel headlight bezels
and there's more ...

Re: 67 vs 68-72

No side marker lights on a '67, so the fenders are different, for example. I personally prefer that, tbh.

Keep hearing 67 only had the folding bench seat but both my 68's have the folding bench.

Re: 67 vs 68-72

67 firewall is stamped different than 68 72. I assume it got wider for big block clearance. 67 has these bump outs.

Are you referring to the 67-only black/argent silver paint scheme on the glovebox door, or is there a design difference in the metal?

Re: 67 vs 68-72

The 67 inner glove box has an indentation where the spid is located ( fawn color) the 68-72 glove box doors have a raised area where the spid is located ( blue)

Also the outside face of the 67 has a grained black coating with argent silver outer edge painted

Interesting. I had a '67 that I restored and drove as my daily driver for 12 years, and I never noticed that detail.
