Anyone Know Where I can Get A Gas Tank Sending Unit Connector?

Boy, have I gotten dumb looks from everyone I've asked. Can't fine 'em in the LMC catalog. Auto Zone says "Huh?" Napa says, "...we don't carry those".

And I've been in to O'Rilley's, another Napa, two hardware stores that keep automotive connectors....No luck.

I say something like, "Well, it's like the one that connects to the temperature sending unit..."

Huh?

I guess I could make one out of a barrel connector. But I'd like to do it correctly.

Question Re: Anyone Know Where I can Get A Gas Tank Sending Unit Connector?

Can you post a picture of this. I have a couple of old senders for parts. I may have it. If I knew what you wanted. The connector itself looks like a disc over the wire connection?

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Anyone Know Where I can Get A Gas Tank Sending Unit Connector?

I couldn't find that connector either; ended up just making a butt-connector work. My original fuel sender used a ring terminal that went under a small nut, but all of the replacement ones had some sort of skinny post connection.

I don't know from Dodge.

I took that shot just north of Larimore, ND along Hwy 2 a couple of months ago.

This one was right beside it.

Thanks, much, Andy.
I'll take a pic of the sender in the morning and post it.
I'd really like to find one. But if I can't, I'll do as Stricklinator suggests.

Pretty sure it looks like this, but not positive:

Question Re: Anyone Know Where I can Get A Gas Tank Sending Unit Connector?

I don't think this is the one you want.

This one may work but it's not s factory one. Take the bolt out and it's the unit you hav I think.

Re: Anyone Know Where I can Get A Gas Tank Sending Unit Connector?

I just did my blazer tank conversion and found the connector at the local parts store.. I think it was 2 bucks.. it just said it was for a standard 90 ohm sender and it worked perfect

Redhead, I have family in Oregon (Salem). Maybe I should move up there.

I've visited four local auto parts stores and all of 'em used some iteration of, "Huh?" after I said "fuel gauge sending unit electrical connection"....",
'71 Chevy truck", "connects like the heat sending unit in the block ...you know, up by the exhaust manifold",
and other descriptive things when they asked.

I even had two bucks in my pocket..

Thanks,

I went to a local salvage yard and took a few photos of gas tanks and sending units. Here is a few that I found. Maybe these are what you are thinking of.

Eric,

Looks like someone at the Post Office has a 67-72 Chevy Truck that needed the same connection.

Damn! A guy tries to do the right thing, and even the Post Office has to get into the act to screw it up.

I got all this today in that plastic bag. The only thing missing, of course, is the connector.

Thanks for trying, Man.

Re: Anyone Know Where I can Get A Gas Tank Sending Unit Connector?

You can't sent little parts like that in a regular mail envelope. It will get torn up in the sorting machine every time. I made the mistake of sending 2 small machine screws in the same method and got the same results.

Talking Re: Anyone Know Where I can Get A Gas Tank Sending Unit Connector?

I knew I had some. One is a factory plug for the gas tank. The other is for some other wire on the truck don't know what though!
