Nice work, you have to have a steady hand for that.

Re: Just some pinstriping pics
Thanks! I am really happy with it. The guy that did the stripes has been pinstriping for 38 years. He's amazing, his name is Tom VanNortwick.

I have had those wheels in storage for about 12 years. I originally bought them for a '92 Silverado I had. When I got the '79 a few months back I was happy to be able to put them back to use. They are a very rare design though, they were only sold through one vendor - and they went under years ago. It makes them pretty rare, I have only seen two other sets on the internet. You can't buy them from Boyds. The design is called 'Scorpio'. I didn't love them on the OBS, but I think they look GREAT on the squarebody. |

Re: Just some pinstriping pics
And here is a drive by in front of my house. I hadn't seen it rolling since I lowered it so I had Stacey drive it by while I recorded from the driveway.

. Awesome videos - thanks for sharing! Truck really turned out great...the roll-by video showed it off good! What do you have planned for a rear bumper? Digging that retro looking front plate too. . .

Re: Just some pinstriping pics
.
. Did you ever hear of Pete 'Hot Dog' Finlan while in Cali: https://www.instagram.com/hotdogkustoms/?hl=en He lays some wicked paint and did a lot of the paint work for West Coast Choppers for years when they were in Long Beach. IMO, the '32 Ford 'Gold Rush' that he painted is one of the most complex paint jobs I've ever seen. The level of attention to detail is mind blowing. . .

Re: Just some pinstriping pics
Yes, I saw him and Gold Rush at the Grand National Roadster Show several times. He is really good too. I went to the old West Coast Choppers compound in LB and his work was everywhere. Gold Rush is mind-blowing in person, pictures don't do it justice. It'e eye-popping!
Have you ever seen Maze? He is pretty good as well. |
