Old members from the early days
I was just wondering about some of the older members that were on here back when I first joined the board. Just curious on how they are doing and are they still playing with these trucks? Here are a few that I remember :
Zkast Longhorn Man da Burb 68 Suburban Solver Tom Hand Huck Purs I know there were more. These are just a couple I remembered off the top of my head. I know some had accounts suspended etc. Putting that aside still would be cool to know how they are doing???

Re: Old members from the early days
I'm a newbie. I've only been here 16 years.
I do wonder about Andy. He was a nice guy. I had a chance to hang out with him when he was in California. Then he just disappeared. Who knows? People come and people go.

Re: Old members from the early days
The last time I talked to Andy (LonghornMan) was about 10 years ago. He was remarried and living in Hilliard Ohio, just around the corner from my sister and brother-in-law, right around the time ElJay passed away and JerryJones (his brother) stopped posting. I sent him a horn cap for his truck. He thanked me and I’ve never heard from him since

I wonder about Andy, the man in red. He just disappeared. I think I might know why. I wish he could come back

Andy was one of the members who helped me immensely when I had electrical problems. I hope he checks in from time to time.

Andy is big on FB and into Chevette's now. He is working a V6 swap on one. I believe 68 suburban just went away. Not sure about the others.

Re: Old members from the early days
I'm horrible with remembering names. Longhornman is the only one I can recall.
I do miss his posts, they were usually pretty funny.

Re: Old members from the early days
Miss Teeitup bought a ton of crap and a truck from him. I’m convinced he’s responsible for wild trucks being extinct in this part of the world

Re: Old members from the early days
It’s good to hear that a few of them are still around and doing well. Like a lot of us I bought quite a bit from Randy over the years. It would be nice if we could get some of the old timers to check in here.

Re: Old members from the early days
Met Randy (Teeitup) several times at the Lawrence Swap Meet and the old Sunflower Swap in Wichita several times. Really nice guy and sold a LOT of parts. Bought several myself and even sold him a few, LOL.
Another member from back in the day is barn9 or LB as he was known. Haven't seen him on here in some time either. He has a really nice 1/2 ton long bed, 402, red and white with the roof clearance lights.

Re: Old members from the early days
Mark, have not seen or heard from LB in quite some time. Tell him HI for me next time you see him. Been some time since we've got together. I still do the swap meet at Century 2 in Wichita when it happens but that has been an on again, off again situation. Also do the swap meet at the State Fair grounds in Hutchinson but same there, on again, off again. How's your projects coming along? Been working on my 57, hope to get it to it's first show this coming weekend in South Haven. Radiator started leaking and had to pull it. Only one radiator repair shop in Wichita any more. Used to have three here in Wellington, now ONE left in Wichita. Times have sure changed.

Re: Old members from the early days
Yes, ol CDowns, Cliff, came across as an old grouch sometimes but I got the impression he had seen and experienced many things through his lifetime.
He always cracked me up about going on rubber fuel lines and glass fuel filters just waiting to burn a truck up. He might have been right on several points but plenty of people do it regardless. |

Re: Old members from the early days
I like to see that most of the ppl replying in here have join dates of 200x.
I just wanna let y'all know, I know I'm not the most sought-after old member, and I don't check in every day, every week, or even every month, hell even every year sometimes ... but I'm always available by PM or phone call if y'all need something. I know Liz and possibly Josh has my number if you're passing within an hour or so of Atlanta and need a hand, or just a beer.
