Tight Panel Replacement

IM in the processes of doing a hole lot a of metal work on the truck but was wondering how you do but weld on a very tight corner or slight gap by the body line in where u cant get a but clamp or hand on the back side of the panel. my driver side bed panel is completely no good except for the bed rail on top and where it screws on to the other panel where the head rack would go. I bought a complete used panel (cut half of a bed down the middle) I was planning on using but clamps and ride my bed rails body lines on top but cant get my hand back there... if I have to do a lap weld I will but I don't really would not like to do that...any advice?
