72 C10 LWB LS1- Original Owner

Hello,

"Long story long..."

For years I've waited for a 67-72 C or K10 to show up. Lo and behold my new neighbor has a 72 Chevy C10 LWB that he bought brand new in 1972. The first time we took it for a spin, he fired it up and it sounded - well, beautiful. That's when he popped the hood and it had a fully swapped LS1 done by a race shop in Fort Worth. He spared no expense, it's essentially a brand new Corvette with the right upgrades. The body has 60K miles on it, the motor has 4K. It has never been repainted or touched from a cosmetic standpoint except for some wheels and tires.

Here's where I come in. A couple of years ago I bought an 83 GMC C10 from the original owner (hence the name TX_GMC), I had to have some power (2012 Camry 4 Cyl is my daily). I swapped a Pontiac 450 my uncle had in it and had a blast, but it needed some love cosmetically and had some mystery leaks so she marked her spot everywhere we went. My neighbor would always come over and talk trucks with me, knowing my dream was his truck.

Well, he's a little older and is recently unable to drive. He only has daughters and they don't want the truck so last weekend he walked over and offered me the deal of a lifetime - his truck. Obviously I didn't even need to think about it so sometime this weekend I'm hopefully going to own my "unicorn".

I'll share some pictures soon, but wanted to see if anyone could give some feedback on 1. what you feel the truck is worth, 2. if there is anything you would look for specifically and 3. are there any concerns or items that should have been done when the LS1 was swapped? I'm still green when it comes to building these trucks, I'm just an average garage monkey that can turn wrenches and follow instructions so I want to make sure I know what I'm getting myself into.

For reference, it looks identical to this one. The paint isn't show quality, but it's been garaged or in a barn almost it's entire life.

So...shoot and thanks in advance!
