Shining trim

What's the best method and products for shining front end trim on a 68? I'm trying "Mothers mag and alum polish" with some success. But it's not great. I realize it's 50 something yrs. Old but it should "buff out"
I used to sand aluminum Harley D. Bottom ends (blocks) with a dremel, then use the descending polishing compound. Man u could see yourself in the aluminum!!! This trim, like around parking lights (grill) is high $ and i'm reluctant to sand it. Whadaya think? OK- After more searching I found a post by gonzo6869. Dated 5/12/2010. Its titled " Shining a grill surround ? " A reply post by"eightbanger " has a video of him polishing alum. Trim from an Impala. He used "Hair and Grease drain cleaner" bought at Home Depot. It's still available for $5.88 for 33.8 oz. Then mothers mag and alum. Polish. It's awesome. Better than new!!!!
