No matter where you get a sending unit from the first thing to do is take the float off that came with it and put one of these on.

I wouldn’t chance it with the replacement they sent either, the failure rate on the repro floats is just too high. I guess it’s not so bad on a pickup with the tank behind the seat but having to replace a float a couple times on a blazer or burb isn’t a fun job.
