Re: Gas Prices?

Yeah. Now it's going down so fast it pisses me off that I bought gas when I did. I bought it a week ago. Can't wait to buy more tomorrow. It's only about a dollar inflated now! Whoopee!

Re: Gas Prices?

We're down below the $4 mark here. Just paid $3.89 for regular. Almost party time! We can eat and get gas. The same day.

Some guys have all the luck..... ours is still $6.469.

Bought some a few days ago in the city, though. $124 for 20 gallons.

Re: Gas Prices?

Cheapest I saw on my trip back 3.88 at Buc-ees and surrounding stations in Crossville TN . Must be some kind of gas war since Buc-ees just opened . I’ve been to it and will never step foot inside again . Way to many people and it’s a touristy type place . I’ll stick to regular truck type stops

Re: Gas Prices?

I've got a daughter in south Louisiana who is big on Buc cees. Mainly for the things they sell there. Is it sort of like the old Stuckey's stores located along the nation's highways? Tourist stop and gas stop in one.

Re: Gas Prices?

Hasn't changed here. Still about 7 bucks a gallon.

My friend has a nice F350 dually that he's trying to sell dirt cheap. He drives a lot and the gas mileage is killing him... No takers...Not even an offer. Nobody wants it. It reminds me of the old gas shortage days when people were selling off their muscle cars for peanuts.

Re: Gas Prices?

I know a guy who works for a company that put him on a job 1 1/2 hrs away. The 3 hrs a day of driving are killing his wallet. He didn't ask for a raise, he told them they either have to re-assign him closer or he needs to find somewhere else to work. The raise would need to be more substantial than what the company would be willing to give

It bugs me when company's just do that. Move you with no regard to your time or money.

I was transferred with 2 years to go before I could retire. It was only 25 miles away but all traffic. I counted. I had 72 stoplights to sit at on my commute. Or I could have jumped on the parking lot that is called the freeway which was worse.

Not really much of a choice. Do you want to go really slow or do you want to go really slow?

It was about 3 hours a day. And two tanks of gas a week. With the prices now I hate to think what it would cost.

Thankfully i don't have to deal with that anymore.

I’m glad it’s going down. Kinda bummed that the local convenient store has changed to prepay (too many drive offs). I’m old school cash and now that means two trips if I fill up

Re: Gas Prices?

Still high in central Indiana, $4.84. I believe our high point was $5.19. Don’t understand why I’m paying a dollar per gallon more than Tennessee and Arkansas. Indiana used to be in the group of states that had the lower gas prices. Maybe those states have suspended their state gas tax?

Re: Gas Prices?

Still dropping here. $3.83 and I don't believe the gov has suspended gas tax in Ark. I don't know why not though since they recently reported Ark has a 1.6 billion $ tax surplus and trying to decide what to do with it. Oh I know, I know!

Holding firm at $6.99 here. Only thing dropping is my stocks. I lost 15K in one account this month. Gotta love this economy.

Sorry to hear that. I still have the one gas stop that allows pump first. They have binoculars and write down the tag number/description on every customer who pumps first, if they don't recognize the vehicle. Most people don't even know they can do it. You just have to know. Basically, it's old school local knowledge. I see people going in to pay first all the time.

One time I had a transplant waiting to use the pump I was on in his air-conditioned truck chatting away on his phone. When I hung the hose up and headed toward the store, his window comes down, he turns his mouth away from his phone and says, "Hey, where are you going?". "Gotta pay for my gas"

It's a 96 F350 with a gas engine. Not diesel. I'm not sure of the displacement. He wants $4500. But it's been for sale a while.
He says it only has 21,000 miles. I don't know about that ... Could be. He hasn't had it long. I think his dad gave it to him when his truck crapped out on him. It obviously needs paint. The desert is brutal on red paint. She's got a little sunburn.
I'd buy it but I already have an F450 and 3 C/20's. I don't need another truck or another one that needs paint. I already have that covered.

Seems like a decent truck to me. I paid a helluva lot more for mine and I always manage to get my finger in the shot.

Yeah. That's a lot of real estate to cover. Too bad the truck wasn't white. It would have held up better. It's a good truck but red metallic and the desert are a bad combination.

Re: Gas Prices?

It's has gone below $4 here too, just slightly. $3.99 at quite a few places. I haven't been close enough to a Sheetz to see if the 88 octane (15% methanol) is substantially lower though.
What I really find strange is the price gap between the octane ratings?
Back in the day, the difference was minimal. I get percentage-based prices, but it seems beyond that.
Deisel has not dropped a bit. The banners at the stations look so odd with them being so far apart.
