The Hard Work Is Paying Off, Finally!

Thanks to all the help from you guys over the past year, I've got my truck's engine dialed in pretty well, and the airbag system working like it should. I took the truck last weekend to a car show and entered it just for the heck of it. It looks pretty rat-ish sitting next to the high-dollar rides, but it was fun!

Here is a pic on the way up, and a video of a pretty decent burnout!

That thing looks sick! Long, low, and slo... well maybe not slow.

Nice work, I'm glad to see all the hard work pay off.

Re: The Hard Work Is Paying Off, Finally!

Thanks for all the positive comments! I will help keep the LWB slammed thread going.

I'm currently doing some work to the gauges and putting in a tach...always something more to work on!

Re: The Hard Work Is Paying Off, Finally!

Here are some pics of the bag-install. I'll get some pics of the compressor and airtank today.

The truck didn't come with a front swaybar so I added it. It really improved the handeling...highly recommended!

Howdy from just down the road a bit! I watched the video and was thinking that the mountains in the background looked like the Wasatch!

Nice ride.

Re: The Hard Work Is Paying Off, Finally!

did you use rear shock relocators and hows that adjustable panhard bar working for you? I have the same one (not installed yet) but Im thinking I might need the deluxe bar instead.

Re: The Hard Work Is Paying Off, Finally!

Truck looks awesome! That is the stance I'm looking for in my truck. Didn't look like you had a notch in it from the pics, I was wondering if I would have to have one to get that low. Would you mind posting what all you used for the drop? Ole Blue is sitting way too high right now!

Re: The Hard Work Is Paying Off, Finally!

Rizdif, I'll be at the Clinton car show tomorrow if you are interested. PM if you plan on going!

My exhaust is longtube Hedman headers, into a custom X-pipe then 2.5" pipes to Magnaflow mufflers. It gives it the deep retro mellow sound of the swingin' seventies! It's great under WOT, though.

For my front I have 2.5" drop spindles and the Air Ride bags. For the stance you see, I ride 80psi in the front. With that hardware, I can lay the front on the crossmember/headers.

The rear does not have a notch. I used the shock relocator, with the adjustable super trac bar (I recommend), the KYB shocks and the Firestone towing airbags. I ride 25 psi and it gives me about 2-2.5" of travel. I also removed the rear bumpstops.

Early Classics and GMC Paul were great help. I hope that answered some of your questions. I'll post some better pics tonight or tomorrow. My burnout broke one of my U-joints...if it ain't breakin' I'm not trying hard enough!

Re: The Hard Work Is Paying Off, Finally!

that looks good.....a realistic sport truck stance......slammed vehicles with c-notches are just ridiculous...these are classic trucks, not some poor honda civic. the nice thing about the bags is you can pump them up when you need stock more ground clearance, hauling a load or trailer or want to fool the casual observer. you can also adjust the front to back to level it or pump up the back for the old school dragster theme! awesome setup!
