Not so new guy with a not so new truck

I've been without a 67-72 for too long now.
So the time has come to add a new horse to the stable.
Here she is "THE TECHNICOLOR DREAMTRUCK"

1971 Cheyenne 5-lug,disc brakes, 350/350
Straight as an arrow, straight tailgate.
Runs great, shifts out fine.
I drove it almost 100 miles home.
No problems

Re: Not so new guy with a not so new truck

I don't know why the clip was changed.
I can't find any damage.
Floor is solid as a rock.
inside of bed doesn't have a single scratch.
Slight surface rust where paint is peeling.
1 pinhole in drivers rocker.
And yes, I drove it home with battery rigged like that.
But, hey the battery tray is solid as heck!
Headliner is sagging and seat has caught 1 too many farts.
But I'm stoked!

Re: Not so new guy with a not so new truck

First purchase was new shocks.
It was a bouncy ride home.
Then figure out some electrical issues.
This is the first old truck I've owned that didn't have the optional "see-thru" floors!
Needs a dash pad and little things.
Check it out A/C controls in a non-A/C truck!
But it's got an un-cut dash!

Re: Not so new guy with a not so new truck

Very nice! Congrats on getting back into the sickness again, now the withdrawals will subside.

I'd get that plastic bed protector out of there, since they tend to intoduce moisture and create rust. Plus once dust gets under in, it's like having sand paper on the bed.
What's up with the interior paint? Most of the truck looks original, but to me it looks like the interior was repainted. Since the ignition emblem was painted over.

Have fun with that baby, and keep us updated on it!

I hope you wiped the seat down before you drove 100 miles on a fart-soaked cushion. Nice truck...

Very nice start - a few odd things going on, but hey, aren't they all that way when you first get them?

Re: Not so new guy with a not so new truck

Just some recent pics I thought I'd share.
I dropped the front 3 1/2"
and the rear 3"
I actually only saw about a 2" drop with the 3" sprins , strange.

Re: Not so new guy with a not so new truck

2 in of drop with 3 in springs is pretty normal. The originals were probably sagged the other in.
