AC vent not holding position....

Is there some felt or something from the factory that supposed to be up there to hold these darn things in place???

Felt. But in truth, you might has well replace the vents. You’ll put more work in trying to fix them versus replacing. I had that same issue when I bought the truck. Spent a lot of time trying to fix, it can be tedious. I ended up getting new ones, and wished I had done that in the first place. They are so much cleaner and prettier now. And they stay in place like they should.

I was trying to find a good picture of a vent diverter, and this is the best I could find. Did your new vents have this round piece? It’s like a foam or felt, can’t remember exactly what the material is, but if these were missing on the new vents that could be why.

I put the furry part of a piece of velcro on top. It works well.
