I was going to say something about putting things in true perspective but left it out. They can lift and put big tires on the modern trucks (which there are a lot of these days) to try to be as cool as the older ones gone big. Not saying newer trucks can't be real trucks, but just no comparison to the real thing in my book

The Grand Canyon State, this is the concrete version. Those of us living outside the State Of Maricopa (county) get ticked off when our roads are crap, but they can blow billions on art in the Phoenix metro area.

I think the same thing when I see sound abatement walls down in Metropolis. People choose to live within the hustle bustle where traffic noise is the norm. Why should those who choose to drive great distances to work to reside in a quieter environment have to pay for an attempt to reduce noise for those people? Who pays for their extra costs to travel to work?

Nice deer . The White tails we have here don’t get as big as mule deer. Came in from stacking wood and this guy was in my side yard. Took the picture from my kitchen door . This guy unlike the bigger 8 point isn’t skittish . The big one won’t come out of the thicket into the yard .

The 6 pointer is with 4 or 5 young doe’s that aren’t ready to mate.

I noticed yesterday, this year most of the leaves from my monster maple blew off and away from my yard. They are only gathered in a few nooks. I'll get that gathered up, but now it's time for Christmas lights................... already??? I hope winter passes as fast as last summer and now fall.

Looking again now I was going to say Mother Nature is going to have a hard time killing that thing. Those were tough old trucks. It's probably been there a really long time. But that's because it's in the arid climate, too. Mother nature didn't have any trouble eatin' on the '69 Dodge (same body 61-71) I had here back east. It had rusted out rockers at 10 years old and I did a frame-up on it.

Beautiful start and finish to the day. I got to see a great early sunrise traveling on Ridge Road looking east down toward the Chesapeake Bay yesterday morning. One of the benefits of DST, at least right now.

That truck I had was a '69 W200. But it ended up looking like a '68 due to the hood, the only visible difference between those two years. The bed, hood, and driver door came from a parts truck D100. The cab came off a W300.

I took this picture a while ago driving across the Potomac River into VA just downriver from Harpers Ferry. That's Harpers Ferry on the point in the center, Shenandoah R. to the left, Potomac R. to the right. So Virginia on the left, West Virginia in the center, and Maryland to the right.

The confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac rivers. We went to Harpers Ferry, then we stopped at Arlington Cemetery.
