Re: AC Compressor went out today
Depends on the size of your pulley's. Mine are all stock and really only needed a belt that is 1" longer.

Re: AC Compressor went out today
Having trouble keeping the AC system alive on my 87 too. About 4 years ago I had a reputable local mechanic fix the system, his work came with a 3 year warranty. All 3 years he had to replace something. 2 years it was the compressor. 1 year was some pin hole leak. Now he's retired and I have to find a new guy. I suspect the new guy will want some crazy number, oh say $800 to fix the system.
Cause you know, they gotta do it all. Can't just replace one thing or no warranty for you. And it's a 1 year warranty, after that you're own your own. Expect it to die after that year is up. That's been my experiences with AC repair over the years. |
