I try to buy as much as I can locally. But there isn't a lot of availability where I am. And if I can find something locally it's usually 3 times the price. So I order a lot of stuff online and get it dropped off at my door for less money and save myself a daytrip to pick it up.

Re: Anyone else disappointed with RetroSound?

So, I finally got them to send me a different/new radio. It does work better for FM stations, but I still cannot get a local AM station. I just don't get it. So frustrating!

I'm giving up on this one. The radio is installed in the truck and at least I can listen to FM. Going to leave it in there until I find something better.

I wonder if this place has better radios...

I'm sorry. You must be so disappointed. It's tough when you pay good money and don't get what was promised and what you expected. Shame on them.

Too bad I can't cuss on here or I'd have a few choice words for RetroSound. And they all start with the letter "F'

Re: Anyone else disappointed with RetroSound?

You mean there are still AM stations? I haven't listened to AM since about 1969.
I guess you have already tried an antenna booster?

My new RS doesn't seem to bring in stations as well as the OE radio but for me it's fine around here.

I used to listen to KFI all the time when I was in LA. Are John and Ken still on?

I always liked those guys especially when John would blow a gasket and go on a rant. It was hilarious.

Yeah, always good stuff. They are on the right side of the fence!

The other shows are good too, like Tim Conway Jr., Bill Handel and Gary & Shannon.

Yeah. I used to listen to all those guys. I remember the KFI tower in La Mirada. They had to build a new one because a plane crashed into the old one. That thing was HUGE. You could see it from a mile away. I knew the guy that ran the relay station or whatever it's called. It was next to it. It was an old building and I about cracked my head open tripping on the uneven concrete floor. You really had to watch your step in that place.

I was there once and some guys were climbing the tower for maintenance. I thought they couldn't pay me enough money to climb that thing.
