Need Help Finding Fasteners

I'm looking for a couple of specific fasteners but can only find them from one supplier. I'd prefer to order them somewhere else because what I need doesn't meet their minimum order. The site I found them on is www.amkproducts.com

The two screws I'm looking for are:

#8 X 3/8 HXWA AB Black Phosphate

#10 X 3/8 HXWA Black Phosphate

I'm not concerned with the markings on the heads of the screws. I just don't want them to be combo fasteners. Like, hex head with a slot or hex with a Phillips. Just looking for hex/washer head only.

I looked on McMaster Carr's site but couldn't find anything. Maybe I'm just not using the right search terms. Would be nice if McMaster had them because there's another fastener I plan to order and it would be good to combine shipping costs.

Also, tried the regular local places Home Depot, Ace, Lowes, etc. No luck finding black phosphate fasteners of the correct type.

I tried their website and didn’t come up with similar fasteners. I even tried eBay and Amazon. Maybe I’m not using the right search criteria.

Re: Need Help Finding Fasteners

Maybe a long shot but try NAPA. They have a pretty good selection of black screws.

If you have a good ACE store they have them . We have two in the area one is a smallish store the other is huge. The big store has two isles of hillman drawers . I find pretty much everything I need there . They even have black oxide bolts from 1/4 20 to over 1 inch .

Re: Need Help Finding Fasteners

Thanks for the info guys. Guess I'll have to look for a better Ace than the one near me. Regarding the size of the screws, they're not body bolts. They're much smaller. They are for fastening the heat stove parts together around the driver's side exhaust manifold on my '70 C10. Black body bolts seem to be much easier to find locally. The ones I need are basically sheet metal screws and the ones I've found are hex/washer head with a slot for a slotted screw driver. They're also the wrong finish. Probably for HVAC use.

Still looking.

Re: Need Help Finding Fasteners

The larger of the two screws looks like it might be the same style that was used for the plastic gutters that contain the wiring harnesses on the firewall and radiator support. The head uses a 5/16" wrench, and the threads are .188" in diameter, although the overall length of the threads from the underside of the head to the tip is 1/2", so they might be too long.

The smaller screw looks like it is the same general style as is found on the back of a gauge cluster, although the gauge cluster screws are only 1/4" long.

Re: Need Help Finding Fasteners

I think Ground Up (SS396.com) sells AMK hardware. Probably same screws for their Camaro, Chevelle, Nova stuff. Might be worth a look. Hope this helps.
