I will! Yeah, It'll probably be a delicate process knocking the holes back out.

I'll try and take some tomorrow (today for you all I work weird hours) and post 'em up.

It's already off. I'd put it on myself a while back. It was missing when I got the truck, put an old one I had on.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread

nocking the bondo out of the holes is easy! get a screw driver and go from the out side where you can see cracks and then for the inside you get a chisel and knock off the big part that dripped down the back side and then do the screw driver if it didnt come out

Sounds easy enough Rick! Sorry didn't get around to taking pics of the carb linkage, I'll try and do that when I get up tomorrow!

Alright here's my throttle linkage, see what you think about kickdown cable placement......also a pick of the transmission where the kickdown cable bolts on (what's left of it! notice that it doesn't continue on above the cooler lines)

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread

Also got these in the mail today! Really good shape, just need a good cleaning, shining up, and a lil paint. May use one of mine that's already pretty shiny. I am missing the nuts that go on the back I have zero. Need some, anyone got some spares?

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread

Guys, I think I'm blind! If you notice in the pics the bowtie on the left has all four nuts! The one on the right has the bottom left one. So..... have five need 3. Plus ones for custom badges so 7 total. Only because I've not tried yet, but I have no idea if my current door bedges are bolted on or not. Knowing this guy they're falling off as I'm typing!!! If anyone has any I'll pay shipping!

68TT any idea on that kickdown cable?

67s with custom or CST badges had little sleeves that expands in the hole and holds it on. 68 uses the little nuts like the fender emblems

I see why they cut it off. There isn't anywhere to make the proper connection on your linkage. They didn't need to cut it off, they could have just flipped it over the trans and tied it off so somebody else could use it later.

The problem is that the T-350 didn't come around until two years after your truck was built. Somebody most likely swapped it in to replace a power glide trans that is the same length.

If it was a 3-speed auto it was a T-400 in 67 and 68.

If you can find throttle linkage from a 69-up 6-cyl truck with a T-350 then it will have the correct provisions to connect the kick down cable properly.

Alright.......I'm sure that'll be easy to find! So if I was searching for that part I'd say a 1970 Chevy C/10 with 250 6 cyl, and th350 tranny right? I'll have to search for that. Thanks buddy!

I don't know how long they used that throttle linkage design but you may be able to even use a square body part too not just the 69-72.

Re: Slick Copper's Build Thread

Got one of my gray/silver visors in the mail today!! And got to work on my emblems! Found a nice metallic blue spray at Walmart (rustoleum brand). First I got out my dremel tool with a buffing pad and turtle wax chrome polish I had sitting around and shined the crap outta them! Then washed them of to get the extra polish out of the endentions. I then used a extra fine black paint marker to paint in the out lines and part that seperates the bowtie from the 10 on the fender emblems. After that dried I masked them off with auto masking tape ( TOOK FOREVER!). Had to tear a hundred little peices to fit in the edges of the bowties. Then primed, painted, and high glossed! I think they turned out awesome! Love the color! I also buffed my "new to me" indicator housing and painted in the letters with a white paint marker. Anyway heres the out come......

Nice work on the emblems. They turned out great.

The center of the bowties on my 67 were painted blue to match the truck when it was repainted by a PO.

Rick haven't you took art class?! Blue and orange (copper) are complimentary colors. Saw it on another truck thought it'd make them pop more than the red. On the visor, I've got another one on the way, should have the same box and paper work. If you could send me shipping I'd love to send it to ya!

Thanks! My truck will eventually be a copper/burnt orange color, so thought the blue would stand out nice!

Got these in. Needed all of these. They were either missing, or dry rotted about to break off. I guess the PO when repainted removed them and never put them back. I'm sure there's more rubber I need, like the hood to cowl seal, but these seemed most important. Real good price, got them off Ebay for like $27 for the kit. Also got clear parking lenses on the way. I think they'll set the front off more. Can't wait to get them in. Also trying to get ole Copper back together (inner fenders on, emblems, etc) for a car show this Sunday. Don't expect to win anything, just go hang out, meet some new truck guys hopefully!
