Thanks Keith, this afternoon I hand rubbed some swirl remover and put a coat of wax on and it really made the black look deep. As far as the wheels, I'm happy with them, they fit the look of the truck but they defiantly don't have the finish as a set of billets. Chad (CC69RAT) will probably say, "I told you so" LOL. Maybe in a year or so when I start driving it and get the bugs worked out of everything I'll take the plunge for billet wheels.
( or maybe buy a set from you when you change your mind )

No .. I like the Coys too! Nothing wrong with them a'tall. Billets are a PAIN man. Yes they shine a little more than others but washing them for example. You have to be super critical about them our you'll haze that 'pretty shine' quicker than you realize. They shine like crazy out of the box but it doesn't take long to see fine 'angel hair' scratches in them. And oh, if a 3 yr old drops a 4 way lug wrench on them from a couple feet away it WILL dent the billet too. Ask me how I know.

Chad, I'm just joking with you man. I will never forget what you said about the "hot" woman in the converse all stars. I had a set of billets on a For*d once and I know what your talking about. I didn't even have a garage then, so just the everyday weather on them was a pain in the a**. I've tried a couple different aluminum polishes this weekend, so far I think the shine I've got is the shine I'll have!!!!

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

I've got my fingers crossed, I ordered a set a Sanderson BB8 headers this week so hopefully they fit with my Performance Online motor mounts. I ordered them in bare steel so if I have to modify them in any way I can do that first then I'll send them to Jet Hot in North Carolina and get them ceramic coated. That's my priority on the " to do" list next weekend. Here's a page flip picture I took last Sunday after a little rubbing with swirl remover and the first coat of wax

Looking good, let us know about the headers, they sure can be tricky at times.

It's feeling pretty good, almost back to normal. Hope to start shooting some epoxy this weekend and then it's on to slinging some mud.

Thanks Scott, hey I was just looking at your build thread and was wondering if you ever check ebay for 67-72 trucks for sale. I usually look on there a couple times a week just to see what's out there and there's sometimes some good deals, or they seem like good deals!!!!

Thanks for the pics Rob, I ordered my BB8's bare steel in case I needed to tweak them a little. I can get a pretty good deal on having them coated, it will end up about the same if I would have bought them from Sanderson already coated. I like how you did your tube on the mount, that's a good idea.

Scott, I look on Ebay 2 or 3 times a week at 67-72 trucks and usually there's some decent deals. But I will tell you last winter a buddy of mine found a '72 in South Carolina that was on air, 20/22 Coys, shop logo on the doors, NO RUST. We hooked up the trailer and drove down, about 6 1/2 hours, got there and it was junk. Gaps were awful, air ride was cobbled up, and NO RUST because it was all bondo!!!!

Thanks man, I'm down to the more enjoying part of the build. It's kinda like some of the pressure is off now. Thanks for checking it out

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

First priority this evening was to install my Father's Day gift. My wife bought me an air conditioner for the garage, the humidity tears me up anymore. It's 18,000 BTU which is good for around 1000 sq feet so I should be good to go. A little trim work around it and some sealer tomorrow and it will be done.
