Those tail lights and the bumper look great, the chrome against that beautiful black looks awesome.

Pretty much everything I ordered from GMC Paul's came from SOKY Classics too but I'm happy with the quality of everything so far.

Thanks Keith, I will probably order directly from SOKY Classics in the future.

Your truck looks great just sitting there waiting for an operation
I love that trailer too, I could use that to drag mine to the alignment shop.

I like the trailer to, but its not mine... I borrowed it from a buddy. Here is a pic of the remote tranny cooler I put on too.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Well, I had a pretty good day and a little let down also!!! The exhaust shop did a pretty decent job on the pipes. It was a tight squeeze on getting 3" pipe all tucked up in the frame, I didn't really have room to run them over the rear axle so I had them put turn downs right at the rear end. Got back home about noon, unloaded the truck and my wife came out to hear it now that it's a little more quiet without open headers. She and I decided to take a little quick drive out our secondary road, started it to warm up some and headed down the driveway, made it about half way out the driveway and it died. The fuel gauge showed 1/8 of a tank so I thought maybe it wasn't picking up the gas, so I ran up to garage and got 5 gallon to put in it. Crank, crank, and it would fire and just die. So my conclusion is hot fuel or vapor lock. Let it set about 1/2 hour and it fired right up and back to the house. At this point I let it idle and watched the temp gauge, around 180 degrees it died again, same thing as before, let it set till it cooled down a little and fired right back up. So, with all that being said any suggestions or ideas or is it even vapor lock? I Know they make a carb spacer and heat shield, just not sure what to do at this point.

Dang the bad luck, glad to hear you got a little drive in before it died though. Hope it's a easy solution.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Just did a quick search and everything your describing is pointing to possibly a bad ignition coil. Good luck

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Could be a bad coil thing to do is warm it up till it quits test to see if you have spark. If you do then check and see if you have fuel to the carb.Good luck

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Thanks guys, I talked to my buddy that built the motor and that's kinda what he said to. He didn't really think it was vapor lock, more like something with the coil.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Trying to get everything packed tonight for a weeks vacation!!!! The wife and I are going to Pigeon Forge TN with the kids for a week. So it will be a nice break from everything especially "work" When I get back home next weekend it's back to trying to figure out what the deal is with the truck not running when it warms up.

Yeah we like it there, I worked in that area a few years ago and got to catch some of the car shows and rod runs.

Just been enjoying some vacation time with the family this week. I did pick up a cool sign for the garage yesterday.

Thanks Mike, I've found quite a few neat signs and auto related things this week. I did find some old gas pumps restored but the wife didn't like them as well as I did.....
