Re: Mr & Mrs. Ironhorse-50 Years

Congratulations on the 50! That's quite a milestone.
My parents were married in '62 and last November celebrated their 58th.
Sadly, it was the last one though. Dad passed in March, probably the only 80 year old to go in the last year NOT of Covid.
I never did very well with it, married twice 5 and 7 years respectively.

Re: Mr & Mrs. Ironhorse-50 Years

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Ironhorse. 50 years together is quite an accomplish ment. My parents wedding anniversary was June 4th. Unforunately my mother passed away last year just before all of the crazy lock downs began because of Covid-19. This year would have been my parents 53 anniversary.

Re: Mr & Mrs. Ironhorse-50 Years

Congratulations Gary, to you and your wife.
You folks that make a marriage work are great role models!

My wife and I rode that train a couple of years ago.
Silverton still had a little bit of snow in June.

Re: Mr & Mrs. Ironhorse-50 Years

The Cumbres and Toltec is another really cool scenic railroad for anyone else visiting southwest CO anytime soon. Both are in the process of converting from coal to diesel though because of the wildfire threat coal inherently brings. They are still steam powered just boiling with diesel instead of coal. Both the Durango and Silverton, and Cumbres and Toltec are truly like being in a time machine of sorts. Really cool stuff.

Re: Mr & Mrs. Ironhorse-50 Years

Would like to say thank you to all who gave their well wishes and the many acknowledgements to my wife and I on our 50 years together. Hasn't been totally without a few complications and issues but we were able to work thru them and continued our commitment to each other. Much appreciated and enjoyed the reading of others who have reached their own milestones on their personal journeys.
