Re: 67-72 stepside pics, 2020 show and tell

It's been the same since 2015. I've put over 25,000 miles on the turbo 5.3!

Most fun vehicle ever, I feel good every time I open the garage and hit the road.

Super nice! I can't speak for everyone but I never get tired of photos of stepsides and a 4x4 just makes it that much more sweet!

Re: 67-72 stepside pics, 2020 show and tell

BRL,
Speaking of ones you wished you had not let get away. Here is my 70 model probably about 1990 or 1991. I'd had it since 1985 at this time and had put no telling how many miles on it. Picture this with a 1984 Honda 250X ATC in the back and that was teenage me. I had done a disc brake swap and rebuilt the engine by this time.

In this photo you can see the 1970 Kingwood station wagon tail lights in the fenders and the narrowed rear bumper. Got lots of comments on those when I had it.

My '68 Chevy C/10 Stepside shortbed came with 17.5'' 6-lug rims. 7.00 x17.5 tires. Rims were 5.25x17.5. Skinny and tall. Went taller in the Mid-Seventies, when the tire shops stopped selling 7.00s, so I went to 8.00x17.5. Got a 1'' lift that way. Spedometer was off by 7%, so I just read it as ''knots.''

Thanks Boog. It was originally a 6 cylinder truck 3OT but there was no motor or transmission in it when I bought it 8 years ago. It came with a 350 and th350 trans seperate and an auto column had already been installed. I sold the engine and trans and put it back to what it was originally with a 250 and 3OT saginaw trans and added power brakes. I have a 7 bolt saginaw 3speep overdrive that I will eventually put in it.

Dirt Wow. Everything on that truck that is normally beat up is straight as an arrow. It certainly wasn't used like a truck all it's life. Grille, bumpers and tailgate are fantastic. Man, that's a keeper right there.
