Well the guys at my parent's shop did a complete tune up and started running new gas lines today, should be only a few days until fire up, I HOPE. Also did a dry run with the '00 Silverado seats and got the hood stripped and in primer. At this rate I am confident that it will make its June 4 th deadline for being complete.

that ex-cab would look so much better if you made the small windows the same hight and style as the door windows.. but you do good work.

I agree on the same height,we couldn't find the right size windows at that time, the side windows are the same height as the rear window though, so hopefully it will work out ok. I really didn't want to go with the same style as the front window, I wanted them to really stand out.

James, this is similar to what I have been planning. I have a few questions, if you don't mind. How much did you extend the cab? What did the windows on the extension come off of ? And how did you extend the roof? Looks great, by the way.

We stretched the cab 20" which was not near enough as we have figured out now. The side windows are out of the back barn doors of a 1950ish Dodge Panel Truck. They where the closest thing to what we wanted at the time, I wanted something that welded in and looked factory, not the cut the hole and bolt them in like on conversion vans. Every other extend a cab truck that we looked at had too much curviture in the glass. We extended the roof using regular sheet metal, I have some indepth progress pics of the cut that I can post later.

James, if you had it to do over, how much would you extend the cab? I was thinking 24 inches on the cab, and off the box.

If I had to do it again I would extend minimum of 24 - 27", the longer you go the more out of proportion it gets, but the more practical it gets. My front seats currently touch my back seat, which is now being altered, the only reason that is is because I went with '00 Silverado seats which are very deep.

Unfortunately it is not all my ambition, I owe a lot of credit to my father, mother and two brother's and my parent's 3 employee's, if it was up to me it would have been a simple body on the frame paint job.

Thanks for all of the great feedback, this truck has to be done for some completed pictures on June 4, for my wedding. Then we are hoping to take it to Prince Edward Island and area for our honeymoon, I think that I am going to be really busy.

That is exactly what I am going to be using, I have already purchased them. I had a set of '73 + stepside fenders but decided not to use them because of the less rounded wheel arch so I tracked down a pair of '67 - '72 ones with out the spare tire cutout.

WOW! Man that thing looks tough! What is the width of that rearend from backing plate to backing plate? That's exactly the look I want for mine, and it would save me a lot of time if I knew the dimensions. Many thanks!
