Re: What brand 15 inch tires are you running

I haven't run them on a truck, but I recently purchased a set of michelin exalto pilots for my car (almost 7,000 miles, no evident wear), and they are AMAZING.....not sure what their largest size is, but they stick to everything, dry, wet, snow, ice, and every combination inbetween. I think they are a V rated tire, handle everything well, they ride a little rough but that is likely a low profile issue. Hands down they are WAY more quiet than the Futura and the Cooper cobras I have run on the same car.....when they wear out they will be replaced with the same time.....I have a hard time doing donuts when I try to in open parking lots these days....they just won't slip

Re: What brand 15 inch tires are you running

I have run BFG's on pretty much everything I own.

The truck, Chevelle, GTO, and the Bonneville.

I really don't have much to compare them to personally, but over the years they have made a great tire for what I use them for so I keep going back to them.

Re: What brand 15 inch tires are you running

I have had both the BFG Radial T/A's and the Toyo Proxes st. I still have the proxes on my old daily driver. Which is for sale. Sore subject. It seems when I put tires on a truck I sell it. Anyway as far as wear the proxes beat the T/A's. I have a friend that has a set and they are showing minimal wear. If I was wanting white letters I would go with the T/A's. If I was wanting black wall I would definitely go with the proxes. They do have a sidewall design but the it is not that distracting to me. But the thread design makes up for the any problems with the sidewall. I have had alot of compliments with the proxes that I have on my 96 gmc. So you can't go wrong with either. Personally you couldnt give me a set of cooper cobras. cheap yes but you give what you pay for. I have had them and I spent more time at the tire store getting holes patched. My .02

Thanks to you all, there are a few options to look at. as far as the cooper cobras they seemed ok at first but you are right I am ready to get rid of them. I will do some more digging seems like the proxys are popular with the new trucks. It also looks like the 275 size is very common with us all. Thanks guys I may wait till spring but will be needing them soon.

A new set of Goodyear Fortera P235 75R 15s. Good in the heavy rain and nice traction on a dry street.

We all have different luck with different things--I personally wont ride on BFGs due to past experience---- 3 blowouts and tread seperation 2 times. My father would not drive on them either-----this is from my own personal experience.
