I would not cut anything and just cap off the wires not used/needed and run a wire from the fuse block for the HEI,,ya never know when you might need the wire you cut off??

I am not cutting off any wires. I am replacing (Re-pinning) a wire that is outdated for my HEI with and updated correct wire for my application. I dont belive that this risistor wire will come in handy for any thing in the future as I will never go back to points just like I will never go back to drum brakes or an in-cab gas tank. I would rather have an extra ign unfused terminal available and no additional wires going through the fire wall.

If you plan on doing a stock restoration I agree with you but I dont plan on going that route.

I got both connectors and the pink 12 gauge wire from napa. I borrowed the special crimper from a mechanic friend. I soldered the connections as well. Now to put it all back together again.

I had this same issue a few months ago, the engine side of the fuse block looked like nuclear meltdown.
