Re: What's the value of this?
My investigations and info gathering about this truck has taken a new turn...
I just spoke to a lifelong family mechanic friend that actually worked on this truck many years ago in his younger days. He says it's not a 396 after all.. it's an original, big V6. Would/could it be original in a Canadian built truck? He says it's the only known engine that's it ever had to his knowledge. Thanks in advance for any feedback. |

Re: What's the value of this?
Both the V6 and BBC have a coolant bypass hose that comes off the top of the water pump and goes to the intake.
On a SBC the bypass is internal. I don't see any hose in the picture

Re: What's the value of this?
The VIN code says it was built as a V8. Seems obvious now that it's a small block - 350 if original.

Re: What's the value of this?
I told the DMV mine was a Ranch truck that had sat for 20 years. I also told them bc the car is over the 1975 limit overdue tags should be removed. that rule is supposed to apply only to "Historic vehicles" but it all depends on the Employee.

Re: What's the value of this?
The DMV supervisor nearest me replied to an email request I made. In Tennessee Code Annex Section 55-3-103, it states that a completed Certification of Ownership can be submitted if the Vehicle is at least 30 years old and has a Fair Market Value of $3,000 or less. There are requirements that must be met depending on the following:
Notification if the owner is known to the applicant Notification if the owner is not known to the applicant Description of the Vehicle Verification of the VIN A notarized Bill of Sale What to do in the absence of a notarized BOS Photographs of the Vehicle By all indications, this situation looks pretty easy and cut and dry. |

Re: What's the value of this?
Your making this a lot harder than it has to be ,Your in Knoxville so think "hillbilly" walk into dmv with a bill of sale that's notarized sit your spit cup on the desk and you'll be out of there in minutes .
you'll have a much easier time in Halls than you will in west Knoxville . |
