I have tried my hand at "rust welding" with mixed results. I am a novice. Welding thicker metal is sure a lot more fun!!!

WHat welder do you have, and approx what settings for what you've been welding in pictures???

THanks
Jeff
Yeh sheetmetal welding is a little trickier than the thicker stuff. I have a lincoln electric pro mig 175. I don't know off hand what the amperage or exact speed is but the settings on the welder while using on the floor is C and just under 4.5. I actually just ordered a prime weld tig machine to finally learn how to tig weld. I've been wanting to learn for years and dad has too. Since hes retired now and fixed income I figured I'd do this and help him try something new. Unfortunately currently bunkered down to see how hurricane Laura decides to act as she gets closer to us.

Thanks, we made out fairly well I think. I had a few large limbs from a pine on my property fall but thankfully away from everything. A lot of my neighbors weren't so lucky. Almost everyone had trees blown down some even took our water meters. A few of the power lines got knocked over and it said from the electric company over 126000 people across the state were without electricity now so looks like I'll be without a few days. But half my house is gas so I can cook and take hot showers, although being summer a cool shower might be better haha. I ordered a primeweld tig225x. Seems to get very good praise from everywhere especially for its budget.
