Re: Gas Prices?

Spent the week in Florida from Destin to Gulf Shores Reg. gas was $ 4.55 0 $ 4.89. Shell was always the highest.

Here, at home (DFW) $ 4.67.

Re: Gas Prices?

Speaking of Shell

They are always $0.20 to $0. 30 cents higher than everyone.

It's Better Gas

From the Net:
People also ask
Is Shell gas better than others?
Shell—For a long time it seemed Shell was the best gasoline available, at least in Chicago. But that’s far from the truth. The additives Shell uses affect the car’s performance quite remarkably and not for the better. Shell’s nitrogen-enriched fuels are the worst.

Re: Gas Prices?

I know the Shell stations around here are affiliated with some local supermarkets and their points programs that earn gas discounts,
hence the higher prices at their pumps as well..

Re: Gas Prices?

Gas hit over $5 here a few days ago, but I didn't have to buy any at that point. I can commute all week on a full tank, usually refilling on Saturdays, or throwing the Camaro into the mix and gaining a day or two.
I filled up today and because of discount points from Kroger, I still haven't officially paid $5. It should have been $5.09, but was "only" $4.89. That's hurtful, I went from riding a bicycle to work and actually letting my gas points expire before using them, to driving 42 miles a day (minimum) 6 days a week.

Why is it that as the price goes up, the pumps seem to run slower? Thi has bugged me for years. I remember when you could pump 10-15 gallons in a matter of a minute or so. The pennys part of the dial would go so fast you couldn't possibly see it. Now they run so slow.

Yeah I guess it in different in other areas.

Speedway in this area gives $0.03 cents discount directly to the fuel purchase.

When you try too cash your points in for other stuff

Re: Gas Prices?

Inflation is killing the economy. I was talking to the checker at the market and she said that the price of everything in the the store had gone up by 10% this month. Sure it has. It all goes back to fuel costs. I just wonder where it will end. It doesn't seem like there is any relief in sight.

It's just a chart, no explanation unless you're reading something into it. Have you seen the charts for the whole world?

Re: Gas Prices?

$6.159 at Vons for 87. One of the cheaper locations in town. 24.58 gallons, $151.42. I need to ride my bike more often. Although it’s summer in the central valley.

Gas in New Hampshire is averaging 4.89 . My Goldwing averaged 51 mpg on the ride up . Mostly two lane roads 45-55 . Think I’ll be using it a lot more this summer
