put in a new rear tranny seal & drained the lube out of the 3 speed.

New driveshaft & gear lube tomorrow & she is back on the road.

Install the freshened rearend, brakes, trailing arms & 2" lowering blocks in the next week

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Found the color. 2009/2010 Caddy Cherry Red (almost black).

Went to the Caddie dealer who wanted to send my woman home with a new Escalade. I told her to tell them to look at me (old, short and fat)..."Did I look like I have the income of an NBA Player?"

Got the color code. Then went to the paint store just to make sure I knew what the paint was going to cost (round numbers). Also, got some black like POR for the motor clean-up.

Met a great guy who is going to help out with some contacts on upholstery, body and paint, wheel stuff, etc. He installed filter and seals and the new aluminum pan on the 350 tranny while I watched. I came home like this.

Bought the gas cap, metal fuel lines and the raw metal for the camaro gas tank install. All I need now are the bolts to mount it. I will fab this up this weekend. Looking forward to providing a thread when it's done.

Replaced Upper rad hose and RH exhaust manifold. Does dreaming of headers or LS swap count?

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Wahed it..well after I pulled the trany pan put in a filter kit changed the modulator on the trans and painted the pan...swapped the 3 core rad for the 4 after I added a return for the heater hose...plumbed up the heater ....and then I put a set of points and wires in the Cady motor twisted the key to make sure it was still runnig well...and hell yea it shifts like a million $$$ and got rid of that small stumble on the bottom...stay tuned saturday is speed runs @ the air port..wish I had a bottle kit for it..

I think its about as good as its going to get...but dont we all want a bit more!!!

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Hmmm let me see installed a tach then promptly blew the freaking motor that is only about 200 miles old, blew chunks of the piston on #5 cylinder right out the side of the block. Hmmmmm I think a bad day overall.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

I had a good day,I pulled the gas tank, cleaned it, sealed it,got it ready to put it back in.I made a new transmission crossmember so my headers can tuck up nice and tight in the framerails and last I re-built my edelbrock carb. Now just have to put it all back together.

Got the 69 Camaro tank fabrication done and installed. I will bend the fuel lines and install them tomorrow. I like the way it came out.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Took the bracket for the steady bearing off the crossmember. The PO put a one piece shaft on but left the bracket, when I lowered it down it hit the drive shaft when I hit bumps. What a B*$*# of a job grinding the rivets off while lying under the truck.

What do you think about a 2/piece drive shaft while using a 4/6 drop? All top notch stuff was used in the drop, including shock re-locator kit from ECE, if that makes any difference.

I would go with a 1 piece, especially if your going to be putting more HP under the hood. Looks better also, in my opinion.
