Re: 1960 GMC K1000 4x4

still on the todo list for the upcoming weekend and week

1. Pass door panel needs wet sanded and painted with possibly 2 more coats of blue then taped off and paint the gloss black on everything that's raised then 2 coats of clear coat.

2. Driver door panel needs to be cleaned one last time then do primer i will do 2 coats of primer right off with the 15 min drying time in between them then i wet sand it and primer it agian i do this about 3 times. Then a final wet sand i use a long sand block on the flat areas where i can but the rest is by hand. Then i will do a coat of blue and do what i said to the pass side from there.

3. Drive door jam is ready to be primed but pass side has had no prep work done to it yet.

4. Driver and pass door need prep to be primed.

5.Front bumper mounts and front bumper need primed and painted gloss black going to do the grill and bumpers with a brush to give them a stronger paint job.

6. Rear bumper prep prime and paint

7. Rear axle needs one last spray down with cleaner and the hose then its ready along with the back half of the truck to be primed and painted gloss black with a brush.

8. The wheels needs prep primer and painted flat black i plan on getting all the org wheels from my 64 to put on this truck with a org looking tire as tall as i can get it with the same width of something org when the tires on there give what there worth.

and i think that's everything lol

Re: 1960 GMC K1000 4x4

Kro, I like the one you chose the best out of those options. Have you thought about painting the frame, or some of the chassis components blue too?

Something like on post #49 here. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=434093&page=2

McMurphy, I took pictures of my truck, and several other ones I found and drew over the top of them in AutoCAD. They are full size drawings of the truck, that can be scaled down for printing. I just finished a stepside one last night, and worked some more on a rear view of mine.

If Kro... (hint hint hint) will get me the picture I needed from the front of his truck, I will get to work drawing one of those up too. No hurry though Kro, got a lot going on the next few weeks. (Sturgis Baby!!!)

Re: 1960 GMC K1000 4x4

I liked the idea of putting some color underneath. Most everyone paints everything underneath black. I think some body matching color, or silver/gray (not chrome) would really make things pop under there. It would be a pain to keep clean, but would look cool when it was.

Re: 1960 GMC K1000 4x4

I am heading for Sturgis, and that is a quicker route than going through Yellowstone. The route takes me through Ogden, then off on I84 to I80, so looping down to Draper, then back up to I80 shouldn't be too bad. I will be heading back home that way too, so could meet up then if it doesn't work out on the way there. I'll be coming back on 8/15 or 8/16.

That thing is a monster!! I am more partial to the GMC hood though!

Here is the ad, so when it gets taken down, we can all still see it. Not Mine BTW.

"1960 gmc lifted show truck 454 big block 44 inch super swampers 400 turbo trans. dana 60s in front and back. everything on this truck is new. paint job has a few chips in it. less than 2000 miles on engine, tranny, tires. awsome 4x4 can make it through anything. very unique truck. have to see to fully appreciate it. 8000 firm.or will take trade/ newer car good on gas mileage and some cash. call tim @ ### ### ####"
