LMFAO! It happens to the best of us. Trust me, I have had my fair share of them. Sometimes you just have to walk away and come back a little later before it hits you like a ton of bricks. And sometimes you have to call a buddy.

Re: The wifes truck

Thanks guys....I brushed the ego dammage off with a good nights rest..hopefully will have the truck ready to paint early next week. I think I will stay out of everyones way today and let him finish the prep work. I was hoping to have it completely finished by the end of the month but it seems a little unrealistic at this point.

Re: The wifes truck

Ok, so a little pre-mature but truck is in the paint booth finally I went and looked at the block and priming job on the outside of the cab and was extremely pleased much better than I could have done. Had a nice glare coming from the primer...Will take pics of it today

Re: The wifes truck

Going to try and finish by next Friday. Got all the doors together this morning and just finished the windshield and glass..Going to have to unbolt cab and clean the frame up...cant believe I skipped that step so that will be a very careful process I hope to complete today. Will have the front end put back together today and hopefully be ready for the muffler shop tom then work on minor details tom. Get the paint we sanded and buffed on the cab and bed Monday mount the bed monday afternoon and try to get a spray in bedliner tuesday or wed then tint it go back through the entire truck after that and try and give it to her on Friday evening next week...I know this is a really fast build but the resources I used dont make financial sense for most people and certainly dont for me either if I looked at a dollar figure...she is however worth every penny...still planning on taking a video of her seeing the truck...have hit a snag today I dont know how to get the stainless trim around the windshield and rear window so I am trying to figure a solution for that out now..the seals I ordered from LMG dont work right they are way too big and the ones I got this morning fit well but cant seem to figure out how to hang the trim...very frustrating.

Re: The wifes truck

I had a local classic car windshield guy do mine we roped in the rear window with all the trim inside the rubber and around the window start in the middle and go top to bottom one way and then the other working from the middle out until bothe sides fit in you will have to apply quite a bit of pressure to keep the trim inside the rubber most likely the trim will stick out a bit no matter what it's just a reproduction fault on the weatherstrip

Re: The wifes truck

Ive abandoned trying to get the trim in until after I have given it to her...really dont want to crack a windshield the seal the second time doesnt have the right slit for it either...did however manage to unbolt most of the truck and get the frame completely painted and rebolt everything without any paint damage also put the inner doors together...think I am going to leave the metal inner door flat black...kind of like the contrast..hopefully she will too if not easy enough to paint

Re: The wifes truck

Its called export blue i believe the PPG code is QDE484 mixed with metallic flake. I think it will look great trying to match the blue on the hood emblem and its pretty damn close.

Re: The wifes truck

they are on correct yes....like everything lately it needs adjusted some more..trying to re-figure out the gas tank now had to drop it to get the bed on and that totally throws a kink in where to put the filler neck because it has one of the bed supports right where the nozzle is on the tank..either have to cut the bed support and/or flip the tank where the filler is on the passenger side.
