Re: My Build Thread to Document and watch progress 72 C20

OK, thanks anyway.

Enjoyed your build thread mate, I can't believe that the cops didn't nail you driving your truck around like that, or are they more relaxed about stuff like that over there?

Re: My Build Thread to Document and watch progress 72 C20

im not sure if there is a law stating that you have to have hood and fenders? Hot rod T buckets dont so why should i need to, I had lights and bumper right? the cops may have a problem with the fact i had no rear brakes, seatbelt, exhaust, registration/inspection stickers, or insurance but they never bothered me about any of that

I replaced the lifters, re adjusted the valves I still hear it, installed new Headers with larger diameter collector, HEI Distrubutor, and tailgate as well, the headers magnify the sound knocking/ticking/whatever sound. Purchased new body mount bushings, new Heater core

Re: My Build Thread to Document and watch progress 72 C20

I need some advice on what could be a life changing decision.

I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been having an affair. You know the usual signs. Phone rings, I answer, someone hangs up. So she started going out with the girls a lot recently and although when I ask which friend it is, it's always "Just some friends from work, you don't know them".

I always look out for her taxi coming home but she always walks down the drive and although I can hear a car setting off. As if she has gotten out of the car around the corner. Why? Is it not a taxi? I once picked up her cell phone just to see what time it was and she went balistic and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her.

Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth but last night she went out again and I decided to check on her. I decided I was going to hide behind my truck which would give me a view of the whole street so I could see which car she gets out of. It was whilst crouched behind my truck that I noticed rust around my rear wheel arch.

Should I take it into a body repair shop or should I buy some stuff from the local auto shop and try to repair it myself?

Re: My Build Thread to Document and watch progress 72 C20

Hey Dukkie,

My son & I are also restoring a 72 C20 and we did the same serpentine belt setup. For some reason, I am struggling with the top radiator hose. You dont happen to have the number for that hose, do you?

By the way, your pictures are excellent. As our truck is mostly in boxes while we repair the rust, it'll be nice to see where everything goes.

Thx

Greg

Re: My Build Thread to Document and watch progress 72 C20

Last weekend I took the truck to muffler shop to have exhaust put on. They discovered 2 freeze plug leaks and I had to return home with no exhaust because the diameter pipes I already had (laying in the bed) cant be stretched to fit the diameter headers I have installed.

Re: My Build Thread to Document and watch progress 72 C20

So 6-13-16 I transferred to New Braunfels to take over our San Antonio Branch.
Had to sell the truck to pay the movers.
Game Over. but it was fun.
