Yesterday was a Chevrolet kinda day, until the silly fox body showed up.. Let me know your opinions on the quality of all my pics, I'm trying this camera thing out.

About to start collecting parts for a 3 speed.. We have a few layin around, its not a 4 speed but it'll still be funn. Hope to have it in by summer. Of course a few things first.. The turbo 400 is fun, and I do like it. Just, this truck needs a clutch again!

After we built the bottom end up and put on the heads. 11:1 flat tops, 508 lift 313 duration cam, 64cc(I believe thats the numbers) 327 double hump heads.

Wow it's been a while since I've been on good progress man the truck is looking sweat it just needs a muncie in it. So how are you liking the refresh on your motor it's almost the same as mine but I got a 1405 eddy, slightly smaller cam, and it's a 400sbc just wondering because I finally got my motor and trans in a few months back but couldn't take it for a test spin because I didn't have the shift linkage that I finally found last week.

The motor is crazy man. With the turbo 400 and 4.11 rear gear the tires will spin through 1st and into the beginning of second with like 60% throttle lol Loads of torque! And I really like the gear drive, I was told by a lot of people I wouldnt but I do. It gives a cool sound.

It also launches really strong! You kinda gotta baby it at first so the wheel spin doesn't completely take over but once at a decent speed it pulls soooooo strong! Needless to say its the quickest i've ever been in lol We probably wont have another stick in it for awhile, lots to do first. But maybe summer we'll put one in it. It drives so good with the turbo 400 I hate to take it out. It shifts so smooth and all.

Also, I'm going to drive it to town this weekend for the first time. About a 30 minute drive to see my grandma. Kinda nervous with the old tires, but I'll be going backroads the entire way to keep my speed down. My grandmother was the second owner of this truck, and isn't doing to great. She got the truck in around 84

Update:

Well, sorta. Got all the lights working, fixed the timing, and Driving it to town tomorrow. Kinda nervous! First time its been that far in over 16 years. Going the slow back roads lol It'll be about a 20 mile drive, with old tires.

You might consider some 18" Rims while you are considering new tires, it's alot of money to lay out but worth it if you had planed on getting different Rims at some point.

Body work time!

Alright, this truck has been through quite a few hail storms, and the dents dont bothers me.. But, some of them have been bondo'd


Before (Old pic, before I started on it, it had gotten worse.



Once I got the paint, and bondo off.. Pretty big dent lol Right now the primer is drying on it, and I plan to attack a few more spots this week

Yeah it defintely looks like you have some rescue work to perform, unless you plan on tearing it all down right now I wouldnt just primer the repaired spots because primer is porous, buy a can of Krylon Rust Tough Enamel to seal up the repairs while you are waiting to get the cash to refinish the entire cab at once, you will thank me later.
Also I would hit every single rust spot on the whole cab, dont just pick and choose, get it all done that way it doesnt deteriorate any further.
A heavy duty 11,000 RPM 4-1/2" side angle grinder with a Polycarbonite disk will save you a TON of work, it strips rust, bondo, paint and anything else in your way on contact but will not remove metal.

I put the Duplicolor Rust killer on it, the stuff that goes clear to black. Thats what I was meaning by primer lol But I also got the primer to throw on it, I'll be putting that on it once this stuff sits the 24 hours it calls for. And I'll never completely tare it down. Just patch what needs to be patched, and drive it.

I haven't got any pics yet, but the top and a spot on the side rear window pillar is now cleaned up pretty nice. Wasn't to bad. I didn't knock out the dent, just killed the rust out of it. And yeah, hard to believe the age of these wheels.. 20-30 years old, maybe older. They deserve some kind of treatment
