Re: Why can't I find a 1 ton dually 4x4 locally?

I know where 3 1 ton dually 4x4's are and I believe two are fuel injected and all original with Alcoas and new tires all less than 100k. There are sweet but come with a hefty price tag

Here they are. He has a single wheel K30 same condition. He has another 4x4 dually 2 tone brown but can't find the listing anymore. He might have sold it.

They have been posted before. He also had a SRW 1 ton as well for sale. They are pretty nice rides. I like the all white one.

Re: Why can't I find a 1 ton dually 4x4 locally?

I was told there is a Chevy 1T crew dually 4x4 for sale about 30 minutes from my house for sale. I haven't went and looked yet so I don't know anything about it. A buddy of mine saw it and said it didn't look to bad passing by

Which trucks? The links i posted above? It doesn't appear to be much lift if any. I have 2 1/2" front lift springs on my 1T crew and running a 235/85/16 tire. These appear to have the same height as mine and they are running a 255/85/16 tire on them. I have planty of room to fit the 255/85/16 on my truck but tire options are more limited.

I would say the fronts are probably bumped up about 2" to 2 1/2" and then leveled up the back which may be 1" to 1 1/2" lift in the rear. After I put my 2 1/2" front lift springs on it basically leveled my truck. My front may sit just 1/2" to an 1" lower than the front but it looks good

yes I was referring to the two linked above. Do you have any pictures of yours with a 2" front lift? I was thinking about a 2" front lift on the '83 I just picked up, should level it nice and have more than enough room to clear a set of 285s

EDIT: sorry to the op, didn't mean to hijack your thread, 3+3 maybe you can pm me some pictures. Thanks

Adam

Re: Why can't I find a 1 ton dually 4x4 locally?

1 ton frame - $100
Rust free bed - $200
Burning up a 4L80E turning a 6 hour drive into a 17 Hour drive - A LOT
Spending quality time with your grandma for one helluva memory - Priceless

I'ma make mine a dually with a dump bed. They're out there so keep lookin. Did you get the one for $8450?

Re: Why can't I find a 1 ton dually 4x4 locally?

I know, I know resurrecting a old thread, but I'm still looking and haven't found much. Has anyone bought a vehicle on the sellers word before and not looked in person? There are several nice trucks out west, but I can't hardly afford to fly out and transport a truck from out there. Anybody within 500 miles of me got something halfways decent. I'll even consider plow trucks, dump trucks, ramp trucks, tow trucks as long as they aren't totally basket cases.

Thanks
Jon

I would think this forum has enough reach to get an impartial member to check out a truck for you. Post up what you are looking at and maybe someone on here will be close to it. Good luck.

Re: Why can't I find a 1 ton dually 4x4 locally?

this truck is right around the corner from me here in nj I pass it almost every day. I think he said 5500 cash would buy it but I think 5 k would. brand new motor and trans. he drives it all around. not a horrible truck. a little rust here and there. not original paint. but all in all a cool truck. I know you didn't want a plow but its a nice truck comes with the plow at that price and the frame looked good. it wasn't a plow truck that got the **** kicked out of it. more like a personal plow truck for here and there.

You need to be able to fly and drive in my opinion, when they pop up, which is not often, you need to jump. I understand not everyone is in the position to do so. I dig it personally, probably have over 30 fly and buys under my belt in the last 30 years, not all went well

Re: Why can't I find a 1 ton dually 4x4 locally?

Thanks for all the replies guys. Joes junk I've only thought 1 was nice enough to look at and that was a couple years ago, in fact that is the 1 that 57Napco has now Dooley's old truck. I guess I shouldn't have passed on that 1, but it was the first I had looked at. How good of an engine is the 6.2? I have zero experience with them. 72K10 is that close to you for a personal inspection? If you don't feel comfortable with that it's probably close enough I can get there to look at it. That '73 2wd does look nice and probably isn't a bad price for a conversion donor.

I see some issues with this truck. Why is there no cab clearance lights or tailgate clearance lights? Where they removed with the repaint? Other than that doesn't look too bad. Is the rust in the picture all that it has? Do you know? You said it's right around the corner, would you mind giving it a good once over for me?

The CUCV dually is a little north of Harrisburg. John is a real honest guy and if you called him I'm sure he could send you more pictures. He is a good 2 hours from me personally.

Yea I can shoot over and check it out. I think it had a cab swap when it was painted. That's why it has a/c but not on the motor.
