Had some time to go back and work on the pcv, still have to install oem diffuser in the valve cover

Air in off of TB will be made out of a aluminum tubing

You are correct, it is the cold start injector sensor. They came on 85-88 cars. 89-92 the function was integrated into the ECM. With your setup you can just take it out and put a pipe plug in the hole.

Perfect, now i can run my extra sending unit there for the electric water pump, and still keep the other sending unit in the drivers side head for my water temp. gauge

Its even a 1/2" NPT!!

building that tpi looks like a lot of work. im sure theres a few head aches too. I was thinking of that route but now not so much. makes a carb sound so much better. lol

Ive always enjoyed the mechanical challenges, so far just a plug and play, but i will probably jinx myself with that statement. What i hated was the rust repair, and i still have to goback and repair some of my shoddy work

Carbs are easy, but i couldnt make them work with remote start, or steep angles off road. Maybe by adjusting my fuel pressure down, but that didnt solve the romote start problem

Plus, the cool factor....someday englese eight stack

Thanks to guys like dale, ive gotten past the humps

Wouldve been easier without the vortec heads, and stock valve covers could save some work....although problems with the oem distri. would still have to be addressed

Finally got the ECU installed where i want it, just some fine tuning. Final plans are to drill and tap(1/4-28) the heater control panel mounting tabs

Still have to change angle of the mount a bit, plus add some sorta support to the heater box. Probably a bolt, spacer, and a nutsert

Power cable is run to the battery

The good thing about the forum is that we dont have to understand, alot of smart guys that are willing to share information. Drop down to the engine section aand ask them, bet they can figure it out

I did notice that you have a square bore carb on a spread bore intake, dont know if its not sealing up well, and causing a vacuum leak

Ok can you butcher a NOS part, luckily it wasnt a 67-72 part! Had to find a place to mount the MAP sensor, its pretty close to the oem location. It will be mounted on the overhang of the cover plate, underneath
Now i just have replacate the three mounting holes along with a shoulder cut. Should be a challenge to make the relief cut. I know its going to want to walk on me!

That rear cover is different then mine, but I guess cause that was a maf system.

Putting it under it would give it a nice hidden location!!

At one point, I had made a bracket to cover the egr hole in the middle of the base intake, and hold the map sensor at the same time.

Dont know, bought it off of ebay, from a chevy dealer...
Now you have me thinking of building my own EGR cover
Finished up the cover this morning, just have to mount the MAP sensor

Ok, got the MAP sensor mounted up, and plugged in...onto the crank trigger and wideband O2 sensor. Glad i bought the transfer punches, made transferring the holes alot easier

Could be a problem with the mount of the crank trigger, well see

Installed trigger mount, of course some problems...the bottom support bolt hits the block, they provide spacers to correct this, but i want to use the spacers only for the in and out of the crank trigger
So, i have another idea...
I will be using studs to mount the bracket to the block
Top bolt needs thread sealant, as this one goes directly in the crankcase
Anyone need a new fuel pump, you pay shipping....

Ok, heres the problem...the guide hits the block(threaded portion), really snug fit, so i plan to cut off some of the threads. Counter bore bracket slightly, about an 1/8", cut a groove in the guide for an E clip. Then the guide will be level with the bracket
The adjusting rod really keeps the guide in place, but the E clip is just added insurance

Worked on the injector harness, plug and play...when im done wiring, it will all be wrapped same as oem, with clothe fabric loom in some areas. Wire bundle is getting smaller, have to wait till after Christmas to spend any more money...have buy my ignition box, crank trigger, wheel, and spark plug wires. Purchases gettin smaller!
Opps, forgot fuel system, oh well

Issue with air temerature sensor, seems that there was a 1985 only, which i have. Twice the price, my luck holds true. So, i think i will change it to the 86 and later, which is coolant and air sensors the same. Might be easier on the next guy

The green wire on the right bank, will go to a senser in the rear of passenger side head

Alright, bought the 1985 only, air temp. SEN- 601,since the company wouldnt sell the connector w/o pigtails ( didnt want an unnecessary splice ) side note, fast sells sensors for less

Sensor is for a 305 cu.in., ive got it going in a 350 cu.in., hope that doesnt cause problems in the future...

Thank goodness for smart sons with a bridgeport, stopped down for the holidays, and showed him the problem i was having with the water neck not fitting up. With the o ring design on the outlet, it interferred with the intake....his solution was to ship it to him and he could machine the intake allowing the outlet to shift over and align with the studs. Still taking advantage of the swivel oring design. Sweet! Dang smart kid there....

You can see it in this pic, intake comes in real close to the water neck. Cant be more than a 1/8", but it might as well be a mile if you cant bolt the part up

Finally got to play with the wifeys christmas presents.....

I did have an ah ha moment in relation to the ecu mount, more on that later

The ignition box isnt going to work there, soo, i plan to use the isolation mounts jegs sells. They just give you enough clearance on the curves of the inner fender to mount it there, using the jegs mount for the ignition box.
I should say that im not sure how the isolation blocks will handle the constant strain of tension and compression. Ill contact the manufacturer, and see if they have any input

Crank trigger and wheel are mounted up, just have to get the oreintation to tdc. Plug and play! Last sensor to deal with is the O2 sensor

I think ive finally located the ECU, after 4 attempts to put it under the heater control with varying degrees of success. So, i decided to put it on the heater box. The ecu is slightly larger then the box, so it has to be mounted on a plate first, then the plate can be mounted on the box. Now i can clean up the mounting plate

I used nutserts, and 2" flathead bolts and nuts. The standoff allows me to run the harness up and into the dash area. I dont know how strong the nutserts are hanging off the heater box, so in the near future ill be putting 1/4-20" isolation blocks in to support the weight of the ECU

Using a tranfer punch helps to locate the holes, there is a flapper gate in that area to be mindfull of
