https://www.ebay.com/itm/264437360524

I just got a set from a guy here in Nor Cal. $169 with free shipping. He also does the ones with holes and triangular cutouts.

Mine came raw steel and require a small amount of trimming on the core support.

I still haven’t done anything with Walter, but I did add a new Chevy to the toy barn.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Nice toy! That will distract you from the truck I'm sure

I got everything sorta caught up and now Walter is the project now up and running. It’s now got to get up, running and functioning.

I'm sure Walter will like some attention. He's probably probably been a little jealous.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short

Got him split back apart. I’m going to get all the plumbing in place on the chassis, ie: brake, fuel & air lines. I also decided that the current trans crossmember was NOT going to work with the chevelle headers and the PorterBuilt dropmembers. So, I got an eBay special and it appears to be exactly what I needed to keep the exhaust tucked up tight.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short

No pictures but I got the high pressure fuel filter mounted. The lines to and from the Boyd EFI tank are made. The rear brake line is mostly made and the new transmission crossmember is finalized. Then I’ll get the airlines run. I’ll have to pull the motor and trans to get the front brake lines built. Then full disassembly and paint of the frame followed by final reassembly of the rolling chassis.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short

I keep looking at this project and thinking that I’m kinda uncomfortable with it. I really believe I’m going to sell the entire rolling PorterBuilt chassis minus this built rearend & brakes (and motor, trans & fuel system of course). Then just build Walter as a static drop with EFI big block, overdrive and big brakes. I really am to damn old for all this airride, fancy suspension stuff. I just wanna drive Walter.

I agree, Walter is cool but a fun driver and less work is going to be wonderful!!

You certainly don't want to get done and not be happy with it. Either way, it's gonna be cool truck

My thoughts precisely. It had been sitting since 2009. 1994 2 years before that. Empty the gas tank, new gas and a battery...drove it on & off the trailer.

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short

Okay, I have been terrible at staying focused on Walter! I have finally split him back apart and started on brake, fuel and trans cooler lines. The trans cooler setup is done, the rear brake hard line is run from the crossmember to the firewall location and the fuel lines & filter are run up to the motor, but not finalized as I used the Holley Sniper setup on my 63-1/2 Falcon . So, I will be purchasing another Sniper EFI setup and I am going to go ahead and get the Sniper specific distributor, coil and ignition box so I will be able to control the timing like I have on the Falcon. Once I get that done, I will work on getting the air lines run.

Maybe, just maybe, I will stay focused this time. Sucks not having help or more motivation

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short

It seems like all car guys have the focus problem when they have several projects. Some times it's good to take a break from the project and then go back as long as it isn't too long!!!!

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short

Almost sold Walter and all his related parts for a fair’ish price. But, I realized very quickly that I’d never be able to replace him, much less build one like I’ll have when I finish this build. Walter is staying home!!! (Unless somebody offers better money...).

Re: Walter DeWayne...Walt for short

Understand the motivation and distractions I haven't logged in here in a while and went back and re-read my Chester build thread and I've been debating engine swaps for 3 years now Since I've last been on here I've upgraded my daily 2x, sold my sxs and bought another boat. The only good thing is my truck is still running and driving, it just loses bodily fluids regularly and makes funny noises.

I started to think about selling my truck over the last month for something completely different. Took the truck to dinner 2x this past week and now I'm logged back in ready to dive into it again. Now I need motivation to stay on it.

Love the BMW btw.
