2000 GMC Electrical problem?

On the way to work this morning my 2000 GMC Sierra stalled, all dash lights ans stereo went out. After I was able to pull over, the check engine light and battery light came on. I turned the ignition and the truck started and I was able to drive home......What the heck is going on?

It's just a check engine lamp.

Re: 2000 GMC Electrical problem?

Sounds like you lost power to the instrument cluster and stereo. Your best bet would be to find out what the fault code for the CEL is, and to test your charging system. You could have a poor connection, or faulty relay, for the I/C. These are just suggestions since I don't know how the wiring is set up on your truck. Good luck. John
