69 gmc lowering?

I have a 69 gmc 1/2 ton sb with coils in front and leaf springs in back. I want to do a 4/6 drop without cutting or c-notching the frame. i dont want a raked look, im looking for it to be level. Its also 6 lug and power drum brakes. I think it would probably be a good idea to change over to 5 lug and front disc brakes at the same time. need advice and suggestions on the best way to go about this. thanks

Axle flip. I'm pretty sure ECE sells conversion axles and all the other stuff I'm going to tell you about. You could locate a 71/72 leaf rear or a '70 and swap 71/72 axles in. Your '69 rear is narrower. Up front you could buy the 5-lug disc kit (ECE) or locate 71/72 parts and just buy drop spindles. They sell lowering leafs, too,if you don't do the axle flip

Re: 69 gmc lowering?

Another ECE (Early Classic Enterprise) fan here. Their customer service is great, very knowledgeable. Actually JUST finished installing a kit on a '70 that had '71/'72 disc on it, swapped the rear axles, and rebuilt the front end. I dont know much, but I may can head you in the right direction. And yes in my opinion is a great time to do the brake upgrade.
