Mirror arm backing plate ??

Getting ready to order some new mirror arms for my '68 Longhorn. It came with the west coast mirrors so there are bolts in the 3 holes where a standard mirror would go. My question is (without me having to go out right now and take off the door panels) does anyone know if the backing plate will be there????

Thumbs up

It should be, however when I take my mirrors off , the backing plate falls to the bottom of the door.

backing plate?

the backing plate should be tack welded into the inside,at least mine was. but then mine had originally had the standard mirrors and mirror arms for a c/10 in '68.backing plate is in a upside down configuration of a triangle (kind of).some one had filled in the mirror arm mounting arm holes and i "re-found" them, luckily mounting plate was still there.good luck, buxman.
