Re: New 64 Stepper Project

Hey man, I remembered back awhile you bought the Honda door seals, didn't like them, and replaced them. I'm in the same spot right now. I didn't notice any follow-up on the new seals you used. How are you liking them?

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

There are a couple spots where they too are tight. It's been over a year so it is getting better. The doors close and line up. No edges sticking out. So I guess I'm good now.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

So I'm replacing the rear end cover with this. Also purchased the CPP deluxe panhard bar.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

So the B&M Differential Cover came with the wrong load bolts and no fill plug. Summit tried to get Holley to respond for the last week to no avail. So I bought a set and a fill plug from Summit, received them and attempted to install it. Didn't want to wait till June or...?
That didn't work because the 14 bolts (instead of 12) B&M sent with the kit I found were metric. Yep. So I called Summit and complained again. Only this time the guy I spoke to sent me new correct fastener for the cover on they're dime.
This is the most expensive 12 bolt cover I have seen in my life in both time and parts to buy in order to install it. Still no word from Holley or B&M.
Looks great and sealed tight as a drum but come on.
I also installed the CPP deluxe (bent) panhard bar, no issues there.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

I might have missed this - did you intentionally put the rear bumper on upside down? If so, do you have a picture of the whole back end like this so I can see if I want to as well?

It is from a different year. Late 60’s early 70’s body style. I only know because I asked the same question a while back.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

Do you have a photo of how your vintage air accessory brackets attach to the header bolts? I want to get that style of bracket but I don't think that they will work for me sense the first tubes on my headers go straight back instead of down.

Well I'm using Alan Grove Brackets that only attach to the head. Same with or without headers. I have since changed to corvette manifolds.

Do you have the part number? Vintage air sells the Alan Grove Brackets. That's why I called them that. Sorry if that was confusing.

Do you have a Saginaw Power Steering Pump and where did you get that bracket?

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

Yes Saginaw Pump.
Part#
132R - A.C.
232L - Alt.
400L - P.S.
http://www.alangrovecomponents.com/S...Short_Pump.htm
You can shop around, eBay, Amazon etc for the best price I always do.
Someone on here said they were afraid of their belt coming off. I've had my engine up to 5K RPM without issue. NASCAR up until last year used engine belts that were not serpentine and they take they're engines to extreme for hours and hours year in and tear out.
As a set these Alan grove units line up perfectly.

Re: New 64 Stepper Project

All the instructions for the brackets are at the bottom of this page, just find the bracket number and a PDF file will open with the instructions.
http://www.alangrovecomponents.com/Important_Info.htm
They come with them in the box but just in case you want to be ready...
