Master Cylinder Manual Disc Brakes

Greetings! I am going with 4 wheel disc brakes on my 1970 C10. I currently have manual brakes. What master cylinder is everyone using to run manual disc brakes? Thanks.... I am in the research phase....

You are way ahead to buy a complete engineered kit from someone like Wilwood

Most guys run a 70’s corvette master cylinder. Make sure to get one for manual brakes. They are inexpensive and work well.

I ordered a 1.0 Bore master cylinder from a 84 C10 with manual brakes. Also ordered an adjustable prop valve. Going to trying this route before I buy a complete system. I do have Wilwood on my 65 Fastback.... easy to go crazy with their solutions....

Re: Master Cylinder Manual Disc Brakes

Just be sure to make sure you have the correct cylinder bore diameter for the calipers you are installing. That is the key for running manual disk brakes (too big of a diameter, leg day every day and if too small, not enough throw in the peddle to fully engage brake calipers). I'm doing the Wilwood route currently and they had to size that for me. Since you already bought it, I'd definitely see where that 1" bore puts you.

My plan was rather simple.... use Wilwood D52 Front Caliper Kit. For the back I was going to use stock D52 style calipers..
